HTC EVO 4G LTE Releasing May 18th For Sprint
Sprint has officially conformed the availability of its HTC EVO 4G LTE Android smartphone. The release date is May 18th, and potential customers looking to switch to the “now network” will be able to scoop one up for just $199 with a two-year contract.
Ah but thats not all – the HTC EVO 4G LTE is really just the HTC One X; but for Sprint.
In case you forgot, this top-tier Android smartphone comes packing a 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 display with an HD resolution of 1280×720. Powering this display is the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with 1GB of RAM. It has 32GB of internal flash-based storage. Around back it has an 8-megapixel, 1080p capable camera complimented by a 1.3-megapixel front facing shooter. Connectivity wise it will feature WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and 3G/4G connectivity. Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is running the show here.
Unfortunately, Sprints LTE network is not active yet. Furthermore, said LTE network will only be available in a select handful of cities throughout the US when it goes live in a few months. So customers snagging the phone before LTE is available will be forced to rough it out with Sprints CDMA network.
