This 2011 has so far been a fantastic year for smartphone manufacturers especially  manufacturers handsets which are running Android. It kicked off with CES 2011 and moved on to this years 2011 Mobile World Congress, where a number of feature packed and rather querky handsets were revealed to the world. Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Hitting (almost) All UK Networks

Sony Sony Sony, you really are trying your best to push the Xperia Play as much as possible, aren’t you? Multiple UK network carriers have recently noted that they are to stock the Xperia Play (Playstation Phone) when it comes available, including O2, Three (noted through tweets) and Vodafone. This kind of initial backing has never been known for Sony Ericsson handsets before, and this could be a good sign, and possibly even an early success for the Xperia Play. Android Phones will rule this MWC

Out of all the different operating systems on the planet such as Android, Symbian, iOS, & webOS, the one which is projected to make the most storm throughout 2011 is Android (and boy does it deserve it). Google has already announced that Android was their best purchase ever, and with so many handset manufacturers going Android, they seem to think so too. Android 4.0 Update Sounds Yummy, Calls Itself Ice Cream

Yeah yeah yeah, whatever. I know what you are thinking (that Honeycomb is coming) but were all about looking in to the future, and the Android 4.0 Update is to be called Ice Cream, apparently. This seems and sounds about right if were honest, as it keeps in line with past names Google has given to their OS updates (Froyo, Eclair, Gingerbread, anyone?).
