Android 2.2 Froyo Officially Most Used Version

Mmmm graphs (how we love them). Above is data collected on Android users and which version of Google’s operating system they are running on their Android phones. Interestingly Android 2.2 comes out on top by a HUGE margin followed by Android 2.1, and if you merge the two together it accounts for over 90% of the current user market. Naturally the number of 2.2 users will decline this year with practically all new user activations coming under Gingerbread (from new Android phones), but for early 2011 at least 2.2 Froyo is king and holds the crown.
HTC Thunderbault Lanch Date: Feb 24th

Verizon has seen it’s fair share of publicity in the recent month’s due to the iPhone 4 Verizon being announced, and now we have a date of launch for their next big handset. HTC’s Thunderbolt handset is set to be Verizon’s first HTC 4G LTE phone featuring a 4.3″ WVGA display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, kickstand for media viewing, rear 8 MP camera with LED flash, front facing VGA camera, 8 GB internal memory, and 32 GB external microSDHC storage. Booting Android on your HTC HD2 has never been easier

Ahhh the HTC HD2, a remarkeably beautiful handset packed full of top spec hardware and an operating system i’d rather throw in a toilet than use. Sure HTC stuck Sense UI on top of Windows 6.5, but that was just a cover up for them not wanting to devote ALL handsets to Android at that time.
